May Day Open House

Description:

It's the GrowHaus official kickoff to the Gardening Season!
Join us for a day to celebrate Spring with workshops, education, food and fun for all.
 
Create an almost forgotten tradition, May Day Baskets.
As the custom goes, towards the end of April people would collect flowers, candies and other goodies to put into baskets which would be hung on the doors of friends and loved ones.

Attend this informative talk from the University of Minnesota professor Kyungsoo Yoo and plant health specialist Erin Buchholz to learn about Asian Jumping Worms and their impact on our local eco-system.

Hennepin County Environmental
Hennepin County Environment and Energy (EE) strives to protect and enhance the quality of natural habitats, soil, and water resources for current and future generations. EE staff will answer questions about water quality, habitat projects, native plants or pollinators, and anything else conservation related. EE is currently working on proposals to protect farmland from development. You can get involved by chatting with EE staff at the open house or taking a survey on farmland access and preservation.
