Kid's Club Workshop | P.L.A.N.T.S.

Description:

Get kids outside to play and into gardening at our Kid's Club Workshops!

Developed through the University of Minnesota Master Gardeners Program, our Kid's Club offers hands-on education to get kids engaged in gardening and develop lifelong skills, appreciation and respect for our natural world. All kids will receive a "2 Learn, Grow, Eat and Go" workbook plus a "Wildlife Gardener" book to use during the workshops. Workshops are held once a month April through October and are open to kids ages 4 through 12.

Lesson One - April 4

This workshop covers P.L.A.N.T.S and everything plants need to grow.
P - Place to Grow.
L - Light to photosynthesize.
A - Air to circulate and spread seed as well as intake carbon monoxide.
N - Nutrients for growth, flower production and health.
T - (Thirst) quenched by water.
S - Soil, rich soil or medium in which to grow.
Kids will engage in a hands-on activity creating seed necklaces while learning about the basics elements all plants need to grow such as light, water, soil and nutrients.
